costumes
I am currently making several costume pieces for various people to wear at ConQuest2006. I have decided to post my progress instead of constantly emoiling Squee!progress pictures out to the world.
I've been stitching the diamonds together by hand while working the fromt desk at work. Reactions have varied between outright horror to poorly concealed jealousy. I don't think that a certain Toll courier took my verra seriously when I told him if he brought me fabric to use, I'd make him up one too. The D models the growing panel. The finished product will sit flatter after I've ironed it. I've got the width right, now adding the legnth. 32 done, 40 more to go... All the front panels cut out together! well... mostly. The inside lining for the Harlequin vest... We were able to scam extra width with this fabric, and with a bit of clever cutting will have enough to make a 5th vest! Vest 2! The rainbow side. Vest 2! The neon skeletal side. We officially love this material! It's not so much measure and cut as count the circles and cut... Was easy to join once I found a machine that would sew through the sequins, and the boi informs me that I could cover my own buttons with this one... The stripes across the back are horizontal, and are 2 pips wider than on the front.
