Movie Tastes

I see a few movies. I am very fussy about what I like, and I'm very opinionated…
Just because I like or hate a movie doesn't mean that you will too. I have yet to meet another person with the same taste in movies as myself.

Action -

3 pre-requisites… A good action movie must have a helicopter, at least one leather costume piece, and real pyrotechnics. I'm talking real flames and smoke here. It's OK to use CG to key it in as an effect, but none of this cheapo BBC sparks crap.

Comedy -

I like my humour clever. I am not partial to visual gags. Don't like most spoofs. I do like people who can poke fun at themselves. Love South Park, love Kevin Smith, love Red Dwarf, bored in Meet the Parents, bored with Mr Bean, hated Bridget Jones.

Feel-good -

Love the "Freaks are great" movies. Empire Records, Hackers, even Shine to a degree. Last one of these I saw was Mall Rats, gotta love Kevin Smith.

Sci-Fi -

Sci-fi falls into 2 categories, the incredibly good, and the incredibly bad. There is no in between. (Unless you count the so incredibly bad that it's kinda good. Eg. Independence Day)

Romance -

I can't remember the last time I saw a good Romance movie. (Unless you count Return of the Jedi.) The only 'Romantic Comedy' that I have ever liked was 'While You Were Sleeping', and I'm not sure if that was because Sandra Bullock was in it.

Foreign Films -

I do not watch foreign films just because they are foreign films. I like to enjoy my cinema. If the movie is good, and it isn't in English, it is still watchable.

So now you know my tastes, you can get a better idea where my opinions will stand compared to your own.
The next thing to note will be that I will try not to put spoilers in my reviews, I hate it when people ruin my chances of figuring something out for myself.
I will also add that I am going to try to be brief, if you want a deeper opinion, mail me and I'll talk at you.
